The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year, with kids jingle-belling and everyone telling you be of good cheer…It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  It’s the hap-happiest season of all!”  With those holiday greetings, and happy ZOOM meetings, when friends wave from afar, it’s the happiest season of all!  It’s the most wonderful time of the year… and what a year it has been!

Accounting, Randolph Business Resources, outsourcingAfter an unimaginable 2020, it’s hard to believe that the New Year is only two weeks away!  After a year solidified by face masks, hand sanitizer, remote working, distance learning, people quarantining, businesses modifying, and frontline workers performing miracles all in combat against the uninvited virus, seems like “next year” would never get here.  Since 2021 is right around the corner, it’s not hard to leave behind an unprecedented year of reminding ourselves to “keep the faith”, “stay strong, solider on”, or “focus on the positive”, but through lockdowns, social distancing, and six feet apart, definitely looking forward to a new normal filled with reminders of patience, grace, perseverance, and loads of creativity learned along the way .

For one thing, we have been fortunate to be living in an era of technology and high speed connectivity.  Virtually anything that could become virtual did just that this year, seemingly overnight.  Luckily, Randolph Business Resources already had a long track record of virtually assisting our clients near and far with expert remote bookkeeping and accounting support.  When mandates for “safer at home” became the new normal, our infrastructure was solidly in place to continue seamlessly providing the same level of care and support.  Technology has allowed us to maintain a connection during socially and professionally one of the hardest times of our lives, and for that, we have remained thankful.

Secondarily, within an accounting and bookkeeping industry that is always evolving,  the global pandemic spurred us to be more creative in Randolph Business Resources, Outsourcing, Accounting, Bookkeepingthe way we cared for our clients that were possibly rebuilding/reconfiguring their financials due to fluctuating labor costs, office closures, and reduced sales.  Creating revised operating budgets, making the most of revenue, outsourcing where possible, along with leveraging online tools and resources allowed us to creatively restart our client’s operations without upsetting an already lean profit margin.  Even without brick and mortar offices to drive sales, existing and new customers were able to chart a more intentional path during challenging times and continue to thrive via many online platforms.

Finally, we landed on embracing the change the best we could and encouraged our community to try new ways to better serve their customers.  While the pandemic brought many unforeseen challenges, it also presented an opportunity to get each of us out of our comfort zones and try transitional ways of working.  New ways to meet virtually, stay connected, and continue supporting clients with the familiar servant’s heart may have surprised some a year ago, but has now become the new and efficient way to maintaining a pristine standard of customer service and production for many businesses.  It has been an experience of “tough times don’t last, but tough people do” and sheer joy in seeing our people and clients rally together through this walk of uncertainty.

To say 2020 has brought unwelcomed challenges would be an understatement, but this year has also taught many people very valuable lessons.  When it comes to producing innovative ways to keeping businesses up and running, we’ve experience extraordinary examples of agility, creativity, flexibility, and ultimately responsiveness to unprecedented challenges. Behind each new obstacle was a client and our team partnered together in finding new ways to get the work done.  It is our greatest hope that all of us will carry into 2021 our company’s “new normal” energy and passion as we continue to deliver top-notch bookkeeping solutions, no matter what.

We’ve said this before, but “We are all in this together” is truer than true, and Randolph Business Resources is thankful to be here with you.

From all of us at Randolph Business Resources, Happy Holidays!  See you next year!
